What size do I need?
It’s important to select the correct screw length for your board. Use this table to work out the longest screw you can use that doesn’t exceed your maximum board thickness.

304 or 316 stainless steel
For most projects we recommend 304 grade stainless steel. 316 stainless steel is suitable if your screws have direct contact with ocean water or are being submerged. If you are off the coast and at most get ocean spray, 304 is suitable.
